Amblyopia

Amblyopia or "lazy eye" is a common childhood vision problem that leads to permanent vision loss in the affected eye. When a child is born with one eye that has a defect, the brain naturally ignores that eye. With time the brain becomes less able to process information from the eye even if the defect is corrected. Amblyopia usually occurs in an eye that wanders inward or outward or has weaker optical power.
